Three Months Already

I just can't believe the boys are three months already. It seems like the time has gone by so fast. It won't be long now and I'll be back to work...another two months. I'm already working a lot more from home. I did a few camps last week to try to earn some extra money and this week we're focused on finding a daycare provider for the fall. Right now the boys are doing great and I think they're around 11 pounds, although I should get them on the scale to find out. They are still in size 1 diapers and wearing clothes that are 0-3 months with some of them still swimming on them. They both smile and coo like crazy and we caught Brody's first smile on camera now so we have proof of both of them being happy babies. Aidan recently discovererd his toungue and loves sticking it out, whereas Brody's favorite body part is his fist and he loves to suck on it. I think soon he'll discover the thumb, but right now he sucks on his whole fist. Their first trip out of the state happened this weekend when we took them to Schaumberg, IL for a seminar that I went to and did a little shopping too. Here's some pics of them at 3 months.
A close up!

All smiles from Aidan...

I'm happy too!

Josh's First Father's Day

I think that Josh's first Father's day was a great one. We got to spend some time with his family on Sunday and share the boys with the Wilsons and Grandpa Arleigh. It was a great day.

SATC & STTN

These are two very important abbreviations to me and I cannot believe I have not posted about them before now. First of all let's talk about SATC. Let me just say, I AM a die hard fan. I have all the seasons after getting addicted to the show in 2004. I remember the first weekend I ever saw an episode (before it was on syndication all the time). Josh had Wag's bachelor party back in Lancaster and I was going to stay in "Dump-Port" for the weekend. I was nervous for me to stay alone in the area we lived in and had no idea what I was going to do all weekend. Someone said rent the first season of SATC. Well, it was all downhill from there. I even had to go to buy a season because I got so addicted that when Blockbuster didn't have a season, I couldn't wait until it got checked back in. I pretty much stayed up all Friday and Saturday night until the sun came up at like 4:00 am watching episodes because of all the action in the ally in our backyard. Well, that week when Josh came home every day he would come home from school I would be in bed continuing to watch episodes. Anyways, I'm an addict and think I even got some of my friends addicted. I went to see the movie opening night with Scharts and Hoota. We had such a great time. We went out for some yummy sushi and Hibachi first and then we headed out to the movie. Apparently I wasn't serious enough about my attire now that I'm a mom because there were many women dressed in fancy dresses and stilettos and I had jeans and a coaching jacket on with NO makeup - it was a busy day with the boys. We had a great time though and I did love the movie. It made me so greatful for all of the great relationships I have with my family and friends. Even if I don't ever make more money and get the house of my dreams I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful boys - I swear they get cuter every day.

The 3 of us with our cosmos (well, Scharts is just having cranberry)

On to the next important topic...STTN! Brody slept through the night from 9:30 until 6:00 on Thursday, June 5th. Aidan joined him on Saturday night sleeping from 10:30 until 5:00. That was Aidan's only night so far, but Brody has done it six out of the last seven nights. Its been awesome. Now we just need Aidan to catch up, but I don't think he's far behind. My boys are so awesome! ;o)

Just a Couple of Fun Pics!

I can't get enough of my boys...what a first time mom, huh? Anyways, here's a few pics from the last week or so of the boys. I still can't capture a smile of Brody's on camera. You should see all the pictures we have of him trying to though. Funny stuff.

Atlas loves the activity gym almost as much as the boys

Pound it!

Okay I had to post this because usually Aidan is the one crying in pictures...hopefully we can get a picture in their outfits soon!

Just Gut-Wrenching

So my biggest nightmare happened today. I still cannot even wrap my head around it. I went out to get Brody some frozen breast milk out of the deep freezer in the garage to find the door not completely closed and 500+ ounces (I just counted) of hard earned breast milk ruined. I am so sad. Pumping was so hard for me and for this to happen it just makes me sick to my stomach. It makes the decision to stop pumping so final. Brody had another 3 weeks to a month worth of milk left.

On a lighter note I also stole yesterdy. Yep that's right...I stole a curling iron from Shopko. Nice, huh. The boys were great. I went into work and worked for about an hour and a half. I fed them and then we went to run errands. We parked at the post office, so we could walk around downtown and do our errands. Well, I threw all of my Shopko purchases underneath the stroller and missed the curling iron. When I got back to the car with crying boys, I had to drive back to Shopko, unload them again and go pay for my curling iron. Wouldn't that have made a nice story in the local paper..."UWSP Basketball Coach and Mother of Twins Steals a $16 Curling Iron." I mean we're on a tight budget, but not that tight.

I guess if I was going to be stealing anything...it should be formula now. :o(

The only thing that makes me better on a day like today is a fun shopping trip and that's not an option...i.e. see tight budget above and poor body image.

Hope everyone else's day is better. I hope to get back on here and post some great pics a little later.

Some Miscellaneous Pictures

So I love taking pictures with my new camera. I have some pictures of the boys from different things that I thought I would share. They are just growing so fast I cannot even believe it. It won't be long now and they'll be onto the next milestone. Its hard to believe its been over 11 weeks already. What did I do with my time before meeting the loves of my life?

Baptism

The boys were baptized in Lancaster on Sunday, June 1st. It was a great day. The baptism went better than we all expected. Brody did decide to poop in his all white outfit just before having the water poured on his head and Aidan cried a little. Other than that it was pretty uneventful. We had a wonderful lunch (amazing chicken Ronnie) at the Wilsons after the service (thank you for hosting). It was a great day! Enjoy the few pictures we were able to get. We wanted to take more, but Aidan was a little fussy later, so we'll have to take some another day.

More Friends Come to Visit

We continue to be fortunate to have our great friends come visit us. Josh and I have pretty much accepted the fact that they come to see the boys, but we'll take it either way. Since the last time I posted Chris and Cassie, Jess and Adam, Andrea and Chase and Kari and Ryan have all been over/up to see us in the boys. Its great to see everyone always!!! Hope to see you again soon!

2 Month Appointment

So its been a while since I've posted, but I need to update you with all the info from the boys' 2-month appointment on Thursday, May 22nd. It went really well. They were both 21 inches long and Aidan weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and Brody was 9 pounds, 6 ounces. We also found out that little Aidan was still jaundice, which was a bit concerning since he has been since birth. The doctor told us a little about breast milk jaundice which only affects 1-2% of all babies. My body produces a substance that is released into my milk forcing Aidan's intestines to absorb more bilirubin than he is supposed to. We took him off breast milk, which mean Brody is going to enjoy the rest of my stash.

We took Aidan back a week later on Friday, May 29th and he weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces and his bilirubin levels were excellent. Looks like my boys are growing fast!
