Canning Mode

I just had to share that I canned 20 jars of pickles this Thursday. It was so much fun and I think that I'm addicted. I did some Kosher Dills that Josh had bought a pack of seasonings/ingredients for and used Shak's mom's recipe for some garlic dills. I'm so excited and I may do some more. We'll see. Josh thinks we have enough pickles for 2 years, but he doesn't know how good they'll be yet. I can't wait to try them.

Congrats Bug & Jay!

One of my best friends from high school and her sweetheart got married on August 2nd. I got to be a single woman for the afternoon and hang out with all the gals from high school before heading over to Josh's class reunion (I wish I would've stayed at the wedding). It was great hanging out with my friends again, I hope its not too long before we can all get together again! I miss you guys! Congrats Bug and Jay - I wish you guys the best of luck and a lifetime of happiness!

4 Month Stats

Well, it was really four and a half months before the boys could get in to see the doctor, but on Thursday, July 31st they went in for their check up and this is what we found out. Our "little" Aidan weighed in at 13 pounds, 3 ounces and 23 inches long and his Brody was exactly the same. They're both still in the 25% for height and weight, but Aidan's BIG head is all the way in the 75%...I hope that means there's lots of brains in there!!! The doctor also recommended we start solids. It seemed a little early to me, but that's what he said. I guess we'll take it a little at a time. I hope all goes well...it just seems like adding more work to our day. Here's a couple pictures of our cuties!

Good, Better, Best!

Well, we've done a lot to our kitchen since we moved in and definitely did it on a budget. We just finished painting the cabinets and adding new hardware. Our next projects are to buy a new sink and faucet and save our pennies for a new floor. Enjoy the pictures and let us know what you think.

We're 4 Months Already!

I can't believe the boys are four months already. I'm sure that I'll be saying that a lot. The doctor's office screwed up in scheduling their four month appointment, so we won't find out weights and stuff until next Thursday (they'll be more like 4.5 months). Let's see what can I say about my boys at four months?

Aidan - He's still my little peanut, but catching his brother quickly. He no longer deserves the title of Dragon because his temperment has calmed way down. He was the first to roll and although he started behind Brody with head control, he does it better now. He still likes to be swaddled still and takes a Nuk almost anytime. He loves to hold is new "lovie" blanket from the Staniaks.

Brody - He's the "BIG", big little brother. He loves to fight the swaddle and has stopped sleeping through the night because of it. He's all smiles and was my first to giggle, although we've only heard that twice now. He still has a herniated belly button, and defintely a double chin. He would much rather suck on his fist than a Nuk and can shake a rattle pretty well now. He seems very content to watch his brother roll over, but loves to grab onto things, especially his new lovie, like his brother.

I Can Roll People...Watch Out!

Aidan is my first roller. I captured it on a short little video. It's so funny because he so gentle and graceful. It won't be long now and he'll be steam rolling Brody. He also has great head control...it's actually amazing with such a big head. Hopefully we can get some videos of Brody here shortly. I have some cute 4 month pictures to share too, but lost the cord for my good camera, so I'm kind of SOL for the moment.

Where Has the Time Gone?

I cannot believe that the boys will be four months tomorrow. Time has flown by, like you can't tell by my lack of posts in the last month or so. I was super busy working basketball camps trying to earn a few bucks and spending time with my beautiful boys. They ended up getting thrush on vacation, so we took them to the doctor on Monday, July 7th. Brody weighed 12 pounds, 5 ounces and Aidan is up to 12 pounds, 1 ounce. They are now in size two diapers (have been for a few weeks), and we have our first official roll. Aidan rolled over this morning from tummy to back like six times. I did catch on video, but not very well. Of course he won't do it again, but hopefully he will again soon. Brody also "giggled" for the first time on Saturday, July 12th. It was great. We haven't been able to get him to do it again though...bummer. That was a great moment. Our other big first was their first day of Daycare. It was so hard for me. I'm sure they did fine, but I'm a first time mom with all sorts of crazy thoughts running through my head. I felt like I was going to puke the entire time they were there, but everything went well (I think...I suppose I should ask Katie). Here's a few of my fav pics from the last month. I'll try to post their 4 month pics tomorrow after I take them.
